CSE 1001Addendum to the FIT Computer Science Honor Code
Computer Science Honor Code:
The official Computer Science Honor Code is located
here.
CSE 1001 Rules and Guidelines:
Unless stated otherwise, students are required to design, write and
debug their programs and labs on their own.
Although students may discuss issues, designs and implementations, such
discussions should be in general terms only.
Specific examples of things not allowed include
giving someone a copy of your program (or lab) in either hardcopy or softcopy
form, e.g., emailing someone a copy of your program (even for inspection),
giving someone a thumb-drive with your program (or lab) on it, leaving your program
on the hard-drive of a PC in the lab either by accident or on purpose (for someone else to see), etc.
Conversely, one should not accept a copy of a program for a class assignment,
in either hardcopy or softcopy form, regardless of whether they are currently
in the class or not.
Additionally, students should never let anyone edit their programs for them.
Note, however, that students may help one another with simple compiler
errors.
Help with logic or run-time errors on the other hand should be obtained from
either the instructor, GSAs, or other CS help-desk personel.
Students should ask the instructor
or GSA if they have any questions regarding this policy.
