Job Prospects and Graduate Information

Computer Science average annual starting salary: $40,000
Need for people in information technology: approximately 346,000 opening in information technology (source: Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) report January, 1998)
Florida Tech Computer Science graduate survey data (May 1996 graduating class [16 responses]) indicates:
80% are employeed, 20% are in graduate school
100% of those employeed are in an information technology job
92% report earning over $30,000; 61% report earning over $40,000; 15% report earning over $50,000
100% feel they are adequately prepared; 60% feel they are more than adequately prepared; 20% feel they are exceptionally well prepared
