Call for Papers
1st International Conference on the Applications of UML and MDA to
Software Systems (UMSS'2004)
June 21-24
Monte Carlo Resort,
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Today's software products and their underpinning process models are
becoming more complex and costly, making the realization of these
products an increasingly difficult task. The OMG's Unified Modeling
Language (UML) and, more recently Model Driven Architecture (MDA), play
important roles in the development and implementation of heterogeneous
software systems. Furthermore, the ability to reason about the
properties of a system built through an integrated system life-cycle is
of great concern to modern developers.

The main goal of this conference is to bring together researchers and
practitioners from both academia and industry. You are invited to
submit a paper that documents experience in research and use of the
UML and MDA in either industrial or academic work. Papers will be
evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness. The
conference will be held in conjunction with 2004 international
multi-conference in computer science and computer engineering. All
accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Some
accepted papers will also be considered for journal publication.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

UML semantics and modeling

MDA tool support

Formal Specifications of UML models

Formal Verifications of UML models

UML-based domain specific modeling languages

Automatic code generation techniques

UML model refinement and transformation

MDA development processes

Model Transformation and Models compositions

MDA and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

Executable UML models

Industrial case studies and reports

Please submit your paper (5 pages, single-spaced, font size of 10-12) to
Hassan Reza by the due date. E-mail submissions are also acceptable.
