Adjunct Faculty

The Department of Computer Sciences at the Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for open adjunct faculty positions in Computer Science and Software Engineering. This appointment will begin in Fall 2016 and is located on the main campus in Melbourne, Florida. The department is ABET accredited in both Computer Science and Software Engineering.

Adjunct faculty are appointed on a part-time basis only and are contracted to teach subjects over a semester period, 17 weeks. According to university policy Adjunct faculty can to teach up to three classes per semester.

Qualifications

Undergraduate Course Work

Candidates should have, at a minimum, a Masterís degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline). A doctorate degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution is preferred, but not required.

Graduate Course Work

Candidates should have a doctoral/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline from an accredited institution. The applicant must possess expertise in the fields of Computer Science and/or Software Engineering.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae/resume, teaching summaries, copies of certifications, and three letters of reference, via the form below. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Additional Information:

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
