2012 American Mathematics Competition

The 2012 edition of the American Mathemathics Competition, a standard test developed in the USA and taken simultaneously by over 300.000 students in most countries of the world, was offered by the Computer Sciences Department on February 22. This test is an entry exam for qualification to the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), and further to the International Mathematical Olympiad. A number of 16 students who do not have access to this test in their high schools (e.g., local homeschoolers, schools with small teams, and travelling students from as far as New Jersey and Massachusetts) took the test in the CS conference room. As last year, one of this year's participants qualifies for for the next level (AIME).
