Samples
Often purposive. The purpose should be identified.
Accessibility is sometimes an important consideration. It should be named if it is/was a factor.
Is there a detailed description of the sample?
Notes:
Samples are at issue in qualitative studies.
They should be fully described. Use much detail.
Samples of convenience are frequently used. This limits generalizability, but is not necessarily poor research. It might be, but it doesn’t have to be just because the researchers used a sample of convenience.
Similar studies are often run using different groups to see how the same factors play out.
