Abstract

This talk will outline and describe what is commonly referred to as "NoSQL" database technology. A brief summary of the history and origins of both relational and NoSQL will be presented, followed by a comparison between the two. Several sub-categories of NoSQL systems will also be presented.

Phil Bernhard is the Associate Dean of Academics, College of Engineering and Sciences at Florida Tech. His research interests are mainly in database systems.
