U Massachusetts, Dartmouth

Abstract

I teach Machine Learning course to Data Science Graduate / Undergraduate students and these courses are taken by students from other majors as electives. In this course of ML I teach "Machine Learning Pipeline Implementation" the way ML engineers in the industry perform and implement it to solve a business problem. I will talk about "ML implementation" part 1 (Data collection and data evaluation) and demonstrate a hands-on project using Jupyter Notebook with Python.

About the Speaker

He has been working as a full-time faculty member of the College of Engineering at the University of Massachusetts (UMassD) since the fall of 2022. He is also co-director of the MS Data Science program at UMass Dartmouth. At UMassD he teaches Data Science courses like Machine Learning, Database Design, Big Data Analytics, and Cyber security courses, Digital Forensics, and Network Security.

He was a full-time faculty member at the Department of Computer Science of Florida Polytechnic University (FLPoly) for five academic years, during 2017-2022. Before immigrating to the United States, I was a full-time faculty member at the North Gujarat University, (NGU), Gujarat, India for almost 25 years starting in the Fall of 1990. He taught a broad range of computer science courses to undergraduate and graduate students at the computer science department of North Gujarat University, India

His core research is shaped by the opportunities in Blockchain for IoT security, and Machine learning approaches for Cyber security analysis. His research contributions before the UMassD, included a Biometrics-based secure access framework, and an enhanced performance algorithm for fingerprint recognition, during his years at Florida Polytechnic University. During his North Gujarat University tenure, He worked with graduate students on research projects like "Data mining techniques for prevention & detection for financial cybercrime and frauds," "Strategic approach & secure access in electronic share and stock market", and "Factors affecting Currency Exchange Rate, Economical Formulas and Prediction Models."
