Abstract

Bicycle technology has advanced at an exceedingly high rate. One of the latest inventions is the rear-facing radar camera that alerts a cyclist of approaching traffic. In this talk I present my work to record and analyze the recorded data from cyclists using the technology I developed in 90 different countries. This framework provides an innovative approach to compare how drivers pass cyclists in many different parts of the world. The framework also has the potential to catalogue various road designs and correlate them with driver passing behavior. The focus of the talk is a description of the framework and a preliminary analysis of the collected data.
