Qualitative - What makes a “good” user’s guide? What kinds of support calls do we get?; What is the client environment like?
Quantitative - Volume of calls; length of call; total cost; costs of different types of support.
These authors didn’t address the qualitative aspects of their study. We’re going to go ahead and look at it as a quantitative study.
Quantitative research starts with a hypothesis and tests to see if it is supported. That’s what they tried to do.
