Researchers
Are there biases that may interfere with the study?
Was there interaction between the researcher and the participants? Or was the researcher only an observer?
How were observers trained?
Notes:
The researchers should be fully described. Often, the researcher is the critical key to a qualitative study. Credentials and training are important.
Biases - Sometimes you can tell if there is bias by language and tone.
Interaction - Should be as unobtrusive as possible. May have to watch for interaction between males/females or different age groups or different ethnicities.
Information about the training of observers is very important. You’re looking for consistency between observers.
